I have to be up in 7 hours...so I'm dinking around on the internet instead of sleeping. Bad cougar. Bad! Yeesh...cougars never listen.... Oh, hey, before I forget (again), my internet will be going out from whenever-they-get-around-to-shutting-it-off through Tuesday (the 29th) so that the dignitaries who are visiting can enjoy faster internet speeds.
Sooo...the flood waters have receded and the wildlife in service of the Princess are once again safe. The employ year is hurtling towards a close, and I will be leaving Alaska for the far reaches of the further-south-than-Alaska in 30 days, 22 hours, 18 minutes, and 6 seconds. It's not that I don't love Alaska with every fiber of my being (minus my spleen, which will forever belong to Idaho), but it's time for a change. I've worked this job for two years now, and it's starting to approach my held-the-same-job record. I need to find another job in a different department. Which leads right to the closest this post has to a point: my after-work plans: I'll be arriving in Idaho on September 14th at some insane hour of the evening, and will be dwelling in Idaho for the remainder of the year (all three months of it). I intend to commute bi-weekly to Ontario to take EMT classes. Do you think I'd make a good EMT? (A friend thinks it'd be great for me because I am "good with stress and like goo"). It's not so much "like" goo as "can deal with" goo, but nothing less should be expected of a biology major, even if I am kind of an ex. I'll also be taking calculus (again :-P) through Fairbanks (distance ed....I can't afford that commute) if I have the extra money. Next semester (quarter) I want to attend on-campus (like last year), and then I'll be up here in service of the Princess again, this time prepping for a cruise next fall. Sound like a plan? Only one problem with it....hose can I get paid to do it all? :-3
