Halloween

First, good news: 1gb CF memory card! Beginning of the day, estimated pictures remaining: 489. 150 Halloween varmint pictures later, estimated pictures remaining: 415.
Now the bad news: out-of-focus blur on digital camera = "pixilation". Took a picture of one of the regular's kids, promised her a framed 8x10 for free. Found the frame I wanted, took it home and discovered it's horrible quality. But it'll do. The picture isn't very good, either, because of the aforementioned reason (which is impossible to detect on a a 2" LCD screen)...you think I'd just break down and buy a monopod. Ah well, I'm glad I'm not charging her for this or I'd give her a refund. Maybe I'm just too much of a perfectionist? I'd give her a refund just for the fact that the frame cuts off the tip of the flower in her hair, throwing the whole picture off center visually (I guess I'm just too good at "filling the frame"...I don't even leave enough dead space for the tiny amount of border eaten by printing and again by mounting).
Back to good news: Lots of Halloweenies tonight! I got pictures of most of them, and saw some really pretty costumes, including one little girl (10, maybe?) in an adorable uni-pegasus (winged unicorn) costume! Most were just kids in costumes, but occasionally there was one that fit their costume so well you weren't even sure if they were in costume, or if this was their normal attire. :-3
And some bad news: My suburban battery died at work, and Tim had borrowed my jumper cables. When I finally made it home (got a ride), I learned that a straight jump wouldn't have worked anyways. So tomorrow is going to be interesting, getting it home.

Bob dressed up as "Quick Stop Bob" for Halloween (i.e., he didn't dress up)

cleverly disguised as mild mannered Bob, gas station attendant.

I decided to play along with that and dubbed myself "Fuel Boy", Quick Stop Bob's trusty sidekick (it was originally "Shell Boy", but I decided Shell was our archenemy, so I changed it to "Gas Boy", but Bob said "Fuel Boy" was less open to misinterpretations). No one got joke that was my hard hat and work boots (I was hard at work fixing prices!).

This is the uni-pegasus costume, from the front,

and from the side.
