Last night, there was a young guy-girl couple, maybe in their early twenties (it makes me feel so old to call them "young" :-P ), who were just coming up to the counter. I was doing something with the lotto machine, so Bob answered their questions. She asked if we had magazines, and he said "no". I thought she'd asked for Maxis, and the quickness of his "no" surprised me, so I went over and grabbed some pads off the shelf and offered them to her, asked her if these were what she was after. I got such a confused look for a moment, so I asked her if she was looking for Maxis. All three of them cracked up, and Bob says I turned redder than my uniform. I thought it was funny too....

When I clocked in and counted up my register yesterday evening, it was overflowing with pennies. Tim (the guy I was taking over for) assured me there was $2.50 in pennies. Needless to say, I never had to get pennies out of the safe. About half an hour before closing, a regular customer, Gordon by name, came in with a big bag of pennies and said he wanted a pack of cigarettes. I groaned and showed him my overflowing till o'pennies, and he laughed. There were $2.66 in pennies there, so I made a big sack of 500 pennies. He asked what I'd do with them, and I grinned evilly and said I'd drop them in the safe so Matt had to count them up and roll them. We both got a good laugh over that. So randomly, I asked the person behind him in line if he wanted $5 of his change in pennies, and he said yes! So I didn't have to drop them after all! *set cheer=whoohoo!* :-3

We had 492 customers last night during my shift. New record. For Bob. :-P

It's very cold this morning; Jari needs lots of snuggles to stay warm. *snugglies*

44 quick stop (gas station), amusing
