Jarod realized that he hadn't made breakfast in a while. After a handwavey trip to the store, he set out the ingredients for a large breakfast for the girls, and after a handwavey phone call to Parker, for her as well

Parker knocked at the back door, waited to make sure Miho had plenty of time to throw something at her if she wanted, then walked in. "Morning. Mmm, what smells so good?" She leaned up and gave Jarod a quick kiss on the jaw, resisting the temptation to hug him while he had a knife doing chopping things in his hand. "Feeeeed me."
"Ooo. Mushrooms, peppers, cheese, bacon. Please." Parker reluctantly set aside the temptation of cinnomon rolls if they were already earmarked for Miho, and settled for leaning on the other side of the kitchen island, watching him work, after she'd snagged a mimosa. "Maybe I should try to take the coooking course next session. At least I'd get cookies from Piper. In theory."
Jarod sliced mushrooms and peppers, then chopped the bacon and cracked some eggs into a bowl, scrambling them, and poured them into a hot pan. "Do you want to learn how to cook?" He asked.
"No. But I don't want to depend on anyone else for food, either. So I'd be willing to learn, for that." Parker tilted the champagne glass back and forth between her fingers, and leaned forward on her elbows. "So what have you been up to? And what's next week's messing-around-in-boats lesson?"
"Surfing!" Parker took a sip of her drink, then leaned over and swiped a pepper, not patient enough to wait. "Have I mentioned lately how glad I am that you're teaching that course, and sticking around here?" Her voice might have gotten more sober as she spoke.
"You don't strike me as a surfer girl, Parker," he smirked, having sliced more than enough peppers for her to snitch a few ahead of time, "and you may have mentioned it, a time or two," he leaned over to kiss her lightly.
Parker returned the kiss with interest, reaching up to cup his jaw for a minute, then grinned. "I may not be a beach bunny, but it's not like I ever turn down learning new skills." She popped another pepper in her mouth, licking her lips after the kiss. "Of any kind." She wandered over to his side of the island, and leaned a chin on his shoulder. "So. Show me what to do."
Jarod grabbed a spatula, "Okay, see how the omelette is starting to firm slightly?" He tipped the pan, letting the raw egg make its way to the edges, "that means it's almost ready to flip."
Parker put her drink down, then repeated his actions, cracking an egg, adding in peppers and mushrooms, and trying to leave it alone. She kept poking at it with a fork, though. "Cook. Wait, why is isn't it solidifying?"
Parker made a face, trying to restrain herself from messing with it again. "Okay, okay." She glared at the pan, vibrating a little. "So I was thinking. You could get a tattoo."
