Jarod was still surfing the internet, looking for New Genesis and "I. Feni-". He hadn't slept since he'd gotten Parker's phone calls--first to tell him to be ready, second to tell him he didn't need to be.

After leaving the developing fight in Jack's room, Parker staggered out and crashed in her room. One hour's worth of sleep was not enough after a night and a morning like that. Late in the evening she woke up, and made her way into town, to the 4th Sin.

She used her key to let herself in, shutting the door behind her, and then smiled in relief at seeing Jarod awake. "Hey."

Jarod got up from the desk, walked over to her, and enfolded her in his arms, relieved to see she was safe. "Hey. How's Jack?"

"He's an idiot." Parker burrowed into his arms, sighing as she wrapped her arms around his torso. "Bruised, bleeding, getting over being drugged. Otherwise okay."

"And you?" He tipped her chin up to kiss her.
