The Fourth Sin, Sunday Morning

Aug 13, 2006 10:55

Jarod hadn't slept at all after speaking to Parker the night before--he'd spent it chasing the phantoms that were "I. Fen-," the as-yet-unamed Parker newborn boy, and anything he could find on a place called "New Genesis" all over the internet. So far he'd had no luck.

To keep his body busy and awake while he thought and tried to find another avenue to pursue, Jarod began to make breakfast for the inhabitants of the Sin and any customers who had stayed the night. First, he brewed a lot of coffee and heated up hot water for tea, then moved on to slicing some fresh fruit, coffee cake and biscuits from J,GoB, home fries, sausage and bacon, and eggs.

The cooking didn't help Jarod clear his mind though, even as, on some level, he enjoyed the simple movements and welcoming smells. He couldn't imagine what had possessed Dr. Raines to steal Parker's brother all those years ago. And as much as Jarod hated to admit it, he couldn't possibly imagine Mr. Parker having gone along with this plan--there was simply no way the man would have willingly given up his son and heir. It would have made more sense if he'd kept the boy and sent Parker away.

And then there was Angelo, who was somewhere in town, leading Parker on a merry chase. He'd have to go out looking for him if he didn't show up soon. It wasn't safe for anyone to have Angelo running around, much as Jarod hated to cage him.

[ooc: Open to anyone who might have spent the night at the Sin, Becky, and certain other people.]
