I know this was in the Deseret News so this kind of sensationalist "story" and reaction should be expected, but... Goddamnit! >.<

Well, not so much "banned" as the owner of the theater chain just doesn't want to pay to have that shown on his screens. The chain, Megaplex theaters, is owned by a local billionaire, and since he really had to fight to get good movies in the first place, he's usually pretty cool about what gets shown. His movie buyer lives in Hawaii and has never even been here.
But occassionally, a film shows up and he has to weigh his laid-back policy against his reputation in the community, and sometimes the risk of losing face is too high. This same theater got a lot of negative coverage when they decided against showing "Brokeback Mountain," but it was one of those times when business vs. reputation came up...and reputation had to win. I think this is an instance of a similar nature.

Either way, I don't think the owner is going to lose any sleep over that particular decision. The film looks like it's drek of the most fecal kind, which in my opinion is reason enough for the veto. Who told Seth Rogan he was funny? Let us find this person and hang them, posthaste.

I like your perspective on it. Seems all the of the media outside of Utah are doing the "Oh my god, there go those crazy conservatives from Utah again." lol
