So I kinda lost in the Smeesh Tourney today. It was a lot of fun, and I actually managed to get pretty darn far. Now, I don't want to sound like a bad sport, but here's some rantage:
Okay, so every person before me that I had fought was skilled. At least, they KNEW how to use their character and managed to make the fight pretty enjoyable for both parties. Matches were ended with handshakes, and it was pretty cool. NOW. The person I DID lose to was some jerk who played as Lucas, a usually underrated character. The problem with this was, this guy only knew how to use one move, AND HE STILL BEAT ME. WHAT THE FUCK. PK FIRE over and over, then when I blocked it he would get a hit in, then jump back. Lather, rinse, repeat. I'm usually an easy-going guy, but SERIOUSLY, it was the cheapest match I've ever played EVER.
Here's the best part: the Smash King there was a dude who only played as Marth, and his only attack was jumping in the air and slicing in front of him. He had NO other technique. After pondering this, I've realized a crippling truth here.
Why is it that sometimes people pour all their talent into something, someone who finds a quick and easy way always triumphs? It sucks. No matter what, you're always overshadowed by some chump who's naturally good at something that you've done for a while. SO I LOST. BIG DEAL. AT LEAST I HAD SKILL, NOT SOME DUMBASS button-mash strategy. It makes me wonder why THESE are the champions of our time. What happened to chivalry and honor? It makes me sick. Great. There goes six bucks into some jerk's bank account. I would've been happy if it was any OTHER player, but it happened to be a freakin' exploiter who doesn't deserve it at all. WELL ENJOY, LOSER. ENJOY IT ALL. I'll go to sleep knowing that I have skill, I'm good at Smash, I'm dating the greatest girl I know, and I've got the best friends a teen dork could ask for. What do you have? A bit more money for a new blow-up doll and a receding hair-line. Goodnight! : D
