Anyone who might have been following my blog about the south beach diet might wonder how we're doing. I really am sick of thinking about it and posting about it and obsessing about it. I try to shop south beach friendly as much as possible at the store. I try to buy everything 100% whole wheat. Low fat, or good fat. Only diet sodas etc. Rice is only brown, and pasta almost never because I truly dislike whole wheat pasta, and the other stuff leaves me so sluggish it is disgusting.
Every so often we do cheat. I had two donuts today, and that is not uncommon for a Sunday. Last weekend there was birthday cake for Max's first birthday, and so yeah we cheat every so often. Still I've gone from 212 pounds to 187. Not bad! I may still have the baby weight from when I was pregnant with my three year old, but at least I've lost the extra pounds from the most recent pregnancy. Yes, I'm still overweight, but not obese. Hopefully cutting down on all that sugar and white flour will in the very long run lose me even more punts. In a couple of weeks I'm going to the doctor and asking about testing my thyroid to see if there is a problem there. My mom had (probably has) to take thyroid medication, so that could be an issue with me too, especially at my age. So hopefully I will lose a couple more pounds and gain some energy by taking thyroid medication. I still don't look the way I'd like, but I'm okay with that. I can now step on the wii fit scale and NOT be told I'm obese. Anything else is off my radar. I'm going to keep eating whole graind, cut out alot of sugar and potatoes and hope it is enough.
So now that I'm done with the south beach diet rantings, I get to vent about other random things. Which is actually what I came in here to do until I saw my last entry. I guess I'll rant about those things at a different time. This entry is long enough. (oh and yeah, I know there's typos and no indented paragraphs etc. I'm being screamed at by the baby. He's grabbing the keyboard, and I need to give him my attention. More at a different time then. :)
