Why I Shouldn't Write A Blog

Jul 16, 2007 21:40

A guy like me writing a blog is kind of silly.  It's not that I don't have anything interesting or relevant to say, it's just that I feel a little pretentious sending my thoughts out to cyberspace for all to read.  That last sentence was even pretentious.  I'm already assuming that someone will read this.  But I suppose blogging is the thing to do these days.  I'm the kind of web user that doesn't interact much.  I read articles and blogs, but don't leave comments.  I get a lot out of the Internet, but I don't give much back.  But isn't that the whole idea and beauty of it all? That anyone and everyone has the ability to shape and influence the Net.  I suppose that's the impetus behind me signing up to LiveJournal; to get inside the Internet a bit more.  That and My first few posts will most likely be unfocused rambling, but maybe with time I'll narrow down to a theme of some kind.  I'm sure I'll write about music and my band, movies, culture, astrophysics, the nature of time, and other things I tend to think about a lot.  I'll try to keep the subject of girls to a minimum, although I do think about them a lot.  I just hope I don't take myself too seriously.

So long,
Jake
