In the latter half of this week, I was mainly learning how to make software packages for
Debian linux. Didn't make as much progress as I should have though, so I'll have to get a move on with it next week.
Partly I was distracted because I found out (or was reminded) that the
National Blood Service are visiting next week and taking over the sports hall, so I had to spend some time sorting out somewhere else for the karate club to train on Monday, making sure everyone knew about it, and arranging for someone else to put notices up about it on the day (as I'm not going to be there).
Also, we booked tickets to see
Arcade Fire live later in the year. I'm really looking forward to it. That put me in the mood to listen to their albums and EP for the rest of the week, and every time I heard songs like "Power Out" I got excited about it all over again :)
Friday's karate class was interesting, as we did lots of work in pairs on kicks, including a few I'd not tried to do before - jump front kick with the back leg, and jump round kick and jump heel kick both with the front leg. They were tough to do, but it was great trying to learn something new.
We've had a quiet weekend, which has been welcome. Yesterday I sorted out some
Snowplains meet photos, we ate ice creams, played some Quake 4, and I watched a few episodes of The X Files. Today I've had karate (six of us, so a full house!) which left me tired enough that I've napped a bit, we ate evil mini chocolate cakes, played some more Quake 4, and that's about it!
