"Traces"
.
Life's an outsized one-way mirror-
My knowledge the half-silvered glass-
With my current self blind to the future,
Incessantly watching the past.
Man cannot help seeking for traces
Of fate in their footprints and eyes,
For what have we else to examine
Than fossils the dead leave behind?
In each careless fall or tin-pot mistake
There's the chance something larger took part;
Fates, furies, graces, and numerous Gods
Have all been accused of the sport.
I claim no religion but clearly see signs
Of some greater plan in the chinks of my life;
When my lowest of lows prove bizarrely benign
For me these said traces confirm a design.
May it prove optimistic with time.

"Sacred Space"
.
Cradle me in your arms of hope,
I'll make this sacred space our own.
Take my hands and lead me through
The promise lands our dreams pursue.
With calm salvation comfort heals.
If you should cry, your eyes I'll fill
Till brimming with love's revelations,
For you are the heart of my temptation.
My spirit thrives and breathes anew
My passion moved
By the soul of you.

"Confessions"
.
Still as the world moves on around us,
Lifetimes pass when our gazes meet-
Though the moment is fleeting, a breath of time,
Must not a song start with a beat?
In every occasion our paths connect
I wonder what's felt from your side.
Your warm eyes veil, oh so thickly hide,
Confessions mine clearly reflect.
What harness is holding you back?

"The Chameleon's Dance"
.
A new song, a novel dance.
My heart may loose; a fate I'll chance
To be once more bound in your hands
Drawn to this banned romance.
Like a fly to the flames you advance.
.
Driven in against your chest
Your hand on my back, all fingers pressed
Wide on my skin. Expression aghast
In succession my walls melt away,
As frail as would snowflakes in May.
.
Your singing goads the dancing on
Two azure eyes proclaim you've won
This round; my sewn up heart undone-
Charmed by a chameleons tongue,
Wanting for breath in my lungs.
.
As our steps diminish gradually
In time with the tapering melody
One smile, you bow, and I'm released.
Enamored and wiled withal
Sensing I've dreamed it all.
