The only question is with whom?

"I wonder what they will discuss with us in this lecture." Hazuki wondered aloud, demonstrating again that she was a failure at starting a conversation properly. She really hated doing it. But well...she had to start somewhere.
Of course, at that point, she remembered that it was probably polite to mention her name. Thus, she added a mumbled "I am Hazuki Azuma*, by the way."

Himawari would have started the conversation, it just meant she didn't have to do it this time. "I don't know. The board says that we're supposed to be discussing our 'literary preferences and hopes for the future year,' so I would assume that it would be something like that." She considered the options for a moment before continuing, "I really enjoy Gothic literature. I like the way that it can draw you in with the atmosphere and then surprise you at the end. I love reading it."
She really doesn't seem the type to enjoy dark, grotesque stories, does she?

"Gothic literature?" Hazuki said after Himawari had finished, tilting her head slightly in thought. She had touched books that were, somehow, connected to something gothic, she was sure of that. In a huge library. With floating crystals everywhere.
"I think I read some of these Gothic novels before." She finally said, giving Himawari a look she considered friendly. "But in general, I'm sure I mostly liked books with swordplay. Probably not something called high literature - it is unlikely that the teacher will be very impressed. On the other hand, they seem to like boxes..."

Apparently, few people shared that thought - the class room was empty, except one student, the furniture, and a box. A very noticeable box, occupying the teacher's position behind the desk.
"You can't be serious." Hazuki groaned, as she stepped towards the desk - and the box. Which she then swiftly kicked. There was a simple reason for that behavior: Hazuki was somewhat annoyed with the school as a whole, namely that it failed to give her any clue about who she was. Stupid stuff like this particularly innocent box thus found little tolerance. It reminded her of really stupid things that had happened in her dreams. "If someone wearing a stupid hat were jumping out of that box, I'm gonna nail the stupid hat to the damn blackboard" she thought to herself ( ... )

He sat down and proceeded to watch Hazuki kick the ugly thing, and even talk to it. Was the teacher in there? Why was everything at this school so weird? Marth loved literature, and he hoped the class would be fun and not some drug-induced mess.
He dropped his head on the desk, sighing.

Marth popped back up quickly and turned to the girl. "Oh, yes, I'm fine!" he said, laughing nervously. "I was just thinking about what could possibly happen in this class." It was very frustrating to have a box for a teacher.
Also, Marth had finally started sleeping again, so his schedule was really out of whack. He was a bit tired, but not feeling sick, so don't worry. "I'm sorry I troubled you."

"O-oh, it's okay!" She holds up her hands and laughs a bit, embarrassed that she asked, now. "I just hoped you weren't going to be ill. And it certainly seems to be... a.... special class, doesn't it?"

This is a literature lesson, not independent study. The teacher is supposed to provide everyone with a list of necessary literature, information concerning the authors and points to focus on. He's not supposed to just give them a sign and disappear. What kind of a teacher does that?
Lelouch intends to protest. Oh, he definitely intends to do so.
And he'll do so by reading Hamlet aloud. Take that.
Reply
"Excuse me," she inquires politely, taking advantage of a pause, "but may I ask what you're reading from?"
...Why yes, she has just essentially admitted to having absolutely no knowledge of Shakespeare.

"Hamlet," he finally comments harshly. "William Shakespeare."

Well, of course. Anyone should have known who William Shakespeare was. But he didn't know how he knew that. He must have studied this play long ago, otherwise he would not have known it.
Before the uncultured girl can respond to Lelouch, Marth is already saying the next few lines quietly. "What if it tempt you toward the flood, my lord; or to the dreadful summit of the cliff; that beetles o'er his base into the sea...?" He remained in his chair for now, though, not wanting to intrude.

Travis plods through the class, ignoring the box, the board, the other members, and everything else for good measure. He does this until he reaches a desk at the back of the room, at which point he drops his bag, sits down, and promptly falls asleep. Apparently sleeping in classes is better than missing them outright?

In fact, he has his hands curled up like a pillow, and his head resting on top of them. His closed eyes are barely seen behind the sky-blue hair, and his breathing is calm and even.
Darn students. All of them are sleeping.

The look in those eyes is obviously one that says 'I'm in a class, no, in a school, full of retards'. And of course, she can do absolutely nothing about it.
Well, if you put it like that...
"Hey," she suddenly snaps, and she swiftly hits both boys over the head. "The teacher might be a box, but you could at least stay awake. It's not our fault that you stayed up all night making friends with your right hand."
