It was a fine September day, when the remnants of summer heat were slowly giving way to the soothing autumn breeze. The weather was good, with the sun shining soothingly through the thin veil of clouds and the wind bringing over a scent of sea from the shore. Thus, it was not surprising that on a fine day like this, many youths chose to spend their time outside instead of studying at home. The streets were bustling with people, a rare event for such a small town, and everywhere one would go, there was cheerful chatting of townspeople.
Among all these people, there was a young girl of about fifteen years of age. Nobody quite knew where she came from... Nobody who was unfamiliar with the current situation in the academy, no less. But there she was, a young lady dressed in a blue dress that showed off her slim figure and her hair carefully brushed to conceal a large scar on her left cheek. She was sitting at a table of a small cafe on a street corner, where the fine weather could reach her and people who passed the streets were clearly heard and visible.
Allen blinked once as she rose a cup of tea to her lips and made a sip, watching people around her all the while. It felt strange, to be in public while dressed like this. Even if people in the cafe were nice, and the waitress even made cute cooing sounds in her direction, it still felt like she didn't something she wasn't supposed to. Even if dressed like this, she was a boy, wasn't she? She wasn't supposed to act like this, especially in public.
Still, if people didn't mind and if Lenalee's effort to improve her appearance was met with such success... Maybe she could play along for a while.
She made another sip and continued to watch the crowds, trying to pick out anyone familiar among the crowd. Maybe she could have some fun with her current situation, after all...
