Drawing the figure is hard. Drawing the figure is discipline.The trouble with drawing people is that our wonderful brains devote a hell of a lot of processing power to recognizing the human forms. So EVERYBODY has an opinion on whether it looks right. A drawing of a hill or tree will pass muster if it looks at least reasonably tree or hill-like. A drawing of a person, on the other hand, will attract comments like, "The arm's too long," or the "The knee looks funny," or the old favorite, "It just doesn't look right."Even if they can't draw beyond stick-figures, it doesn't mean they're wrong. In fact they are usually right. And you can't even hide behind theory. ---Craig Cane
