2014 total stories: 30. 2014 words: 102,091. (2013: 126, 357w.)
To say 2014 was a big year in my fandoms is a HUGE underestimation. There was new canon for Veronica Mars - a movie AND a book; new canon for the X-men with Days of Future Past, and a completely new fandom obsession (and lets be honest, major actorly crush) for me as I discovered Revolution and David Lyons (General Monroe, or Bass, depending on the season/state of mind.)
So what got me writing? A new fandom always spurs creativity, and it was a thrill actually writing fic with new canon arriving every week. There's a great little nbc_Revolution LJ that runs prompt fests, and the 54 prompts in 54 days challenge had me writing scads of little stories into interconnected arcs.
Once more, my life on Tumblr kicked up my writing a lot, with prompts easy to come by when you a) ask for them or b) do a meme. Most of my Veronica Mars stories this year were the products of a Meme, or Porn Battle. 12 Days of FicMas, starting on Christmas Day, is a great excuse for me to write a few small fics that give me the chance to try out new fandoms, or return to ones I have neglected - like the Xmen! All I can say is that after two years of writing Sleeping Dogs in 2012 and 2013, I felt in need of an X-break! Days of Future Past has since kicked off my enthusiasm there once more, and the X-men mythology is always fruitful to mine for crossovers (plus, Wolverine and Rogue. I need my fix. I'll be writing at more Xmen, including something multichaptered, fairly soon, I promise - 2014 will prove a blip on the X-radar :D

Update on my works-in-progress and things in the planning stages:
I have a number of major works-in-progress I am prioritising in this order at present. Regard my ETA with extreme prejudice.
Drift Away. This Veronica-does-Revolution's Blackout story is finished all but for one scene. Chapter 10 (which might turn out to be chapters 10 and 11 and 12) by Monday, Jan 12th.
Points of Infinite Multiplicity. Last updated just over a year ago, this X-men/NCIS story stalled because I conceived it as a oneshot, and when I started writing it wanted to be my next megafic. I was working on chapter two today, but suspect it could push out to at least ten chapters, if not more. Next chapter by late next week, final chapter - no idea.
Pilots of the Storm. My Revolution alterna-s3 fic, currently 2/?. Next chapter mid-January, no end-point in sight though I'm aiming for 20-22 chapters as per a season of TV.
Tied with a Bow. Written as part of a prompts fest, this dark little story of Underage!Charlie, dark!Miles and tormented!Bass has little chapters (currently 8/?) and I should I'll try to get a new chapter up soonish and finish it off once the kidlets head back to school at the end of January. Ditto the Miles/Charlie/Bass post-Patriots story,
To Build a Dream.
Five Down Low. My very porny Noah Puckerman goes to work for Weevil and Veronica fic hasn't been touched since Dec 2013, and is currently 6/8 or so chapters, with chapter 7 mostly written. February? It's time this horny little sucker was put to bed :D
New stuff?
- Lots and lots more Revolution. Already underway are a bunch of no-Blackout AUs, including osteopath Charlie, rockstarCharlie, Cretan waitress Charlie, and others I'd like to write include MMA Fighter Charlie. I've also been talking about a "Life and Times of Nora Clayton" story for ages, and have written a little preview to a Miles Matheson-is-actually-Harry-Dresden crossover I'm excited about. And I'm playing with an X-men/Revolution crossover as well, with Bass and Miles part of Wolverine's little cadre of amnesiac mutant supersoldiers.
- An X-men/DOFP story looking at the imbalance between Logan's memories of his life with Rogue, and his new reality stuck in a mansion with Bobby and Rogue playing sucky face (again.)
- A Veronica Mars Movie followup tracing the fallout for Weevil post the events of the movie, and possibly encompassing the events of both books also.
