Posting dramas
My apologies to anyone who's had my latest fic in full on their page, or had to click through the Ao3 or whatever. Myself and LJ aren't getting on AT ALL at the moment. It's taken me at least 5 tries to post my latest fic - I used to be able to drop my text in the box from Word, up would pop a window to format it, and hey presto, pretty story.
I'm not writing in MS Word anymore due to being unable to find the key to my old software when I got my laptop. And for some reason, the little box doesn't come up for Open Office files, whether .odt or rich text, or plain text. And when I drop it straight in, LJ insists on putting in a million line returns, or squishing up the text really tightly. Yesterday, I spent hours taking out line returns, and today, I had to take them out manually.
AND THEN IT WOULDN'T DO AN LJ-CUT.
Hair, pulled out.
I think the problem with the former is the fact that I have Chrome as my default browser, and had to switch to Windows Explorer to be able to keep formatting on my text relatively easily. Then I had to switch back to Chrome to actually do my LJ cut.
Maybe it's time to try Firefox. Or Safari. Or something else that LJ actually likes.
