Happy Easter!
Today is Easter! I decided that it would be a good idea to be a good girl this weekend,especially since it is Easter weekend. Even though I've never really celebrated Good Friday, I decided to learn about it and what exactly it meant and what some of the traditions were. This whole holiday just helped to remember that I am a Christian and that I do believe in Christ and my salvation. I am not an obsessive Christian or one who feels the need to evangelize the world, but by making sure that I am a Christian I know I am doing the best I can.
To go along with the whole festivities of Easter, I went to a Greek orthodox church with stephanie and jessica for a midnight service the saturday night before easter. It was such a great service, although a little boring in the beginning since it was mostly in Greek. But then, 2 minutes before midnight, they turned off all the lights symbolizing life without Christ and then at midnight they lit it all with candles, which we all held in our hands, and walked outside of the church holding our candles. They said a prayer three times in which we made the sign of the cross with the candles. It was such a beautiful service and the church was absolutely gorgeous, especially with all of the candles, the icons, and the stained glass.
I'm really happy I went. By the way, Peja Stojacovic of the Sacramento Kings was there. Jess, who is a basketball fiend, said that he's like one of the top ten players of the NBA which was pretty cool....even though we all know that the Sacramento Kings Suck!!!!!!!!
So today I think I'm just going to hang out and do work and watch tv and take a shower and probably go to the gym. Hopefully, it'll be a great day
