Drabble with no name
Sheldon was going to be home tonight! Penny tried to keep her excitement to herself. He'd been away for two weeks for some sort of research thing that the University sent him off to. He tried to explain it to her a couple of times but Penny had no idea what he was talking about half the time. She wasn't quite sure why she wanted him home, he'd been checking in every night on video to say goodnight to her. It had started when he couldn't sleep and they chatted until he finally got his brain to power down.
Somehow it ended up to be a routine she looked forward to at the end of her day. Well,not that she'd admit that she looked forward to it. But she did wait for him and she did rush home from her late shift a couple of times. She'd even wore a really low cut tank top once just to see if his eyes would drift...but he just rambled on. She laughed at herself when she felt disappointed at that. Sheldon had only once told her she was attractive and he said it like oranges were orange. Whack a doodle. Oh but there was progress, Penny grinned while she sat down on her couch. The good night kiss.
She had kissed him on the cheek the night he left . He looked shocked when she did it and even wiped his cheek like a disgusted little boy. But Penny had laughed at him and hugged him. She was determined to get him comfortable with human contact before the year was through. It was a mission! He on the other hand, had looked at her like she had lost her mind. So after every video call he ended up with a screen kiss on his cheek. Penny decided that if he turned up for a real one tonight then there was hope for him after all.
