Ramen Daisuki

Loads of new ramen shops in Singapore nowadays.

Here's my Love List.
  • Tanpopo (Liang court/Ngee ann city) - wide variety (more than 10types), awesome soup base (pork bone/miso but seafood isn't nice), awesome noodles (hokkaido/kyuushuu), generous ingredients (bamboo, veg, egg, average pork)
  • Miharu (Gallery Hotel) - awesome soup base (pork bone or miso), awesome hokkaido noodles, good pork
  • Santouka (Clarke Quay Central) - limited choices awesome pork bone soup base/spicy miso, to-die-for pork cheeks, good kyuushuu noodles
  • Hakata Nihon Ryouri (Mohd Sultan) - VERY limited choices, awesome soup base, good kyuushuu noodles
  • Ippudo (Mandarin Hotel) - awesome pork/miso soup base, nice kyuushuu noodles, good pork, horrible queue/overhyped/overpriced. [I visited it in Ginza and it was just a casual eatery.]
  • Yoshimaru (Holland Village) - Interesting peanutty soup base, nice kyuushuu noodles, forgettable pork. but i loved the grind-it-yourself sesame seed condiment! :D
Here's my Crap List.
  • Aoba (Ion Orchard) - shitty oily soup base, half chicken-half pork), crappy hokkaido noodles, the pork belly was so fatty i wanted to gag.
  • Bishamon (Raffles city) - shitty soup base, shitty noodles, but pork was marinated quite well.
  • Shokudo (EVERYWHERE) - shitty soup base, shitty noodles, not served hot, ughh.
Neutral List
  • Ajisen Ramen (Everywhere) - I think it's really average, but my Japanese friend said its pretty authentic Kumamoto ramen...
  • Marutama (Central) - I just don't like chicken based soup. It wasn't tasty enough. (but everyone else loves it?)
  • Sun with Moon (Wheelock, Central) - very limited choices, and their hokkaido ramen was just "nice", not really "woah". Expensive!
