Ironic Universe
The universe if having a field day with me. Well, I suppose that's an over-exaggeration but it's still kind of annoyingly ironic.
I just spent my weekend doing my best to keep one of my friends from smoking. I got him to go two whole days without a cigarette. Then I come back home. I'm going out for a grocery run and I come across an unfortunate individual who is living on unemployment and has run out of money a few days before her next installment and has gone three days without a cigarette because of it. With some hesitation, I buy her a pack.
Stupid universe....
In other news, my certificate of eligibility finally arrived. Standard international shipping takes 7-10 business days and it just so happened to take the full ten. Now I must go through the process of either buying a new ticket (since I can't get a refund or change the departure date of the original one I bought) or change my status once I get to Japan. I would much prefer the latter option. I've done my best to make this know through subtle hints in the email I sent to my contact detailing the situation. We'll soon see what is to happen.
