I know you have no reason to help us, but if you know of a way to restrain him, I would be much obliged to hear it to prevent any harm from coming to him.

It amuses me that you all seem to be under the impression that he's at all dangerous in a physical sense. His swordsmanship is mediocre, and he's certainly not significantly stronger than I am. Furthermore, he's extremely loath to actually take any action on his own. He uses his followers for that, and he hasn't any of those, here. Tie him up like any common criminal. It's really not that hard. If I can keep him under control it certainly shouldn't be beyond the means of the Shinsengumi.
