I don't see anyone being stupid. She's most possibly mentally ill, we have no clue about the backgrounds to this story.

From todays JT Experts have been quick to attribute Zheng's actions to paranoia stemming from insecurity about not being able to make friends.

Isolation, anxiety and paranoia can make people do things they wouldn't normally consider. Such as killing your own child. We can only asume her mental state at the moment and to assume she has no remorse... perhaps when she realises fully what she has done.
