This, this right here:
http://www.trulia.com/property/3042543922-14-Springdale-Rd-New-Rochelle-NY-10804 This was my grandparents' house, where I spent every summer. My grandparents had lived in this house for nearly 50 years before selling it, and moving into a retirement community. The new owners restored it beautifully, but I recognize every room. It was built around the turn of the century, the upper story was added later. It served as a hospital during WWI, and my grandfather found cases of morphine hidden in the walls, and needles and bloody rags. It has two full stories, plus a walk-in attic and a huge basement. One bedroom was actually a servant's room, although the new owners turned it into a breakfast nook.
I am both so happy and so sad, because there is no way in hell I can afford the 1 million asking price. It's an absolutely gorgeous area, too. But it is so wonderful to see it. There's lots of photos in the link.
Oh, oh I wish I could go back. I miss my grandparents even now. They would have loved to have seen the house restored, I think.
