Welcome, cherry blossoms!

Apr 08, 2011 11:11

The cherry blossoms have finally popped, well, some of them... Some trees are still only giant buds ready to burst, other trees are practically in full bloom.  Now that many trees are in bloom, this means I can run around like crazy taking photos.

Yesterday after school I rode my bike around a bit.  I intended to go to the river, but those trees weren't blooming yet, so I stopped at the park about half a block over instead.  It was BEAUTIFUL.  The sky was a lovely blight blue too.  This is a beautiful time of year in Japan, I just wish I wasn't so allergic to pollen.  I've contemplated wearing a mask, but that won't save my eyes from burning and itching so I give up on that idea.

That's about all from Nishinomiya for now. I was going to go to a couple more parks this afternoon, but it looks like a rainy day. Poo. :( But the forecast shows the rain stopping overnight/early tomorrow morning which is great because hopefully the weekend will be lovely. I'm going to Kyoto! Arashiyama and Gion sakura, here I come!

Stay tuned for more cherry blossom reports from Kansai!
