Appearance Chiba is a Japanese kid of average height, with brown eyes and black hair. His brown eyes serve as a window to his emotions seconds before he spazz's his has a fit his eyes will show what his mood is. His skin is slightly tanned he is darker then the rest of the band but this is not to say he looks like he purposely tans, he just takes sun really well. Now what makes Chiba stand out is his hair, the kid sports an afro. Yeah a Japanese kid with a fro.
He likes to dress like the style of music, a little bit ghetto. He dresses in baggy jeans, other times just ghetto'd up pants. loose tee shirts and nice sneakers. Sometimes you'll see a big coat over him or a baseball cap. However he doesn't look like he is living lavish he just dresses as he likes.
Personality At first look Chiba is LOUD and PROUD. He holds himself with an air of pride around most people this does not mean he is an egotist...well a massive one anyway. He tends to be relaxed and uncaring about things most people would care about. Like being class president, he doesn't really care about that. At the same time he will become super excited over random stuff like robbing a soda machine.
The guy has some crazy mood swings too, one moment he will be laughing up a storm like whatever he's laughing at is the funniest shit in the world the next second if someone says something he doesn't like he will start cursing them out and snapping off on them. if its serious enough he will even show of his karate moves on a person who pushes his temper too far.
Even if he seems massively off kilter at times one thing remains true about Chiba, he can pull a crowd to him like no one can. He has an energy about him that can not be touched and that is like a light in the dark, it draws people. Even if he is a nut job.
Background Chiba was never fully explained in cannon but eh, we'll work from what they did explain. Having grown up in a single parent household; his father is likely dead. Which seems to be the story of most of the BECK cast. Chiba was either the youngest or middle child either way his mother had to work hard to support her sons, the oldest who was deaf and had to go to special schools. Which required a lot of money the family didn't have.
Chiba didn't have the best life but he didn't complain he loved his family a lot and because of this grew up to be a pretty good guy a loner if anything in his early teens. Having to go take karate lessons because he was constantly getting beat up, as Maho said, before he took karate he was a complete bitch. It was when he discovered a band called Generation 69 that he opened himself to music. They influenced him to live his life as he wanted and he did.
he started to listen to more rap music and started practicing while working part time when not in school, because he had money he had to be getting it from somewhere. He startd to rap at clubs just free style stuff mostly at a small time bar called Remedy. He was known by the people around for his temper, he was a good guy but still a bit off the wall.
As time went along he was voted class president a few years running which pissed off some of his classmates which caused some grief in his high school years. It was after he finished school that he went with his mother and brother to Gene-Co signing the deal for his brother to be able to hear and so his mom wouldn't have to worry so much about money. His way of paying back a good mother.
Though sometime shortly after he loaned a nice sum of money to ONE Ryusuke Minami cause he felt bad for the guy. And no he's not pleased when he realized the guy was a jerk. He planned to go find him and get the money back even if he's still working. He could use it to help pay off his debt to Gene-Co if anything happened to his bro he wouldn't know what to do.
Genetics & alterations Though Chiba himself has no changes his brother does, his brother could not hear and his poor family desperate to help him turned to Gene-Co, Chiba signed the deal doe his mother so the burden with be off her. He cares dearly for his family.

Third person Chiba walked down the street thinking about how excited he was to finally have a nice bit of cash on him. His mind running through all the stuff he could buy himself now that he was living on his own it was hard to afford to do much of anything but he was excited none the less. Except he forgot one very important thing.
When he felt his phone buzz in his pocket he pulled it out expecting it to be a talent agent, but when he saw it was a text from Gene-Co he paled. He had forgot to pay his bill. Taking off running as fast as he could he had to get to the train before it left. He had to get to the payment center before a repo man was sent out.
His heart had never beat so fast, now he wouldn't have spending money but shit this was his brother that could wait. "MOVE GET OUT OF THE FUCKING WAY!" He yelled as he ran past an couple being lovey dovey, he might have felt a little bad that he pushed the guy over but hell this was an emergency. Once he was in the train terminal he slid his card and slipped past the gates running for the train. "HOLD THE FUCK ON MOTHER FUCKER!" He screamed seeing the doors start to close, lucky for him someone put a hand in the door for him.
