I'm thinking of joining a sorority. It's an asian-interest sorority, Kappa Phi Lambda. Lol, funny thing is, I didn't really know what a sorority WAS until a few days ago. So can some of you help by like telling me what you think of when you think of a sorority? Is it all that bad?
I mean I asked all the important questions, like if you HAD to drink to be in it (which was no btw, one of the girls said she never drinks too) and they keep stressing that pledging is hard but not embarassing or hurtful in any way and they strive for academic excellence so it shouldn't cut into my schedule much. It also seems like a great way to learn time management this first semester. I mean, there's the whole thing about not being able to meet other people, so all my friends could be asian, but I mean, all my friends are asian here ANYWAYS. Plus, I don't think being in a sorority makes you not make friends outside of the group, ya know? It's not like it's forbidden to meet other people. :P And I have this meeting people thing pretty much down.
I just think that having this whole "sisterhood" thing would be really nice, especially during the next 4 years, when something does go wrong (or if something does go wrong) it sounds like it'd be good to have people to fall back on (though I think I already have a few people I could fall back on, I could always use more!)
So let me know!
