Best Airline to Japan?

Hello, I'll be studying abroad in Japan this upcoming March, and well, I've never flown before. I apologize, in advance, if this is too off-topic for the community; but I figure, who better to ask, rather than a community of native speakers and those who are also studying the language, such as this one, who many of which have more than likely actually studied in or visited Japan and would have actual experience with airlines going to and from it?

I'm not really sure where to look or what to look for in a flight, but if you could point me in the right direction as to what you consider the best airline with great affordability, policies, flight insurance, and/or whatever else I should be concerned with, I'd be most grateful.
