HURRICANE ANDREA!

May 11, 2007 11:02

DUDES! I almost missed it! Finally, FINALLY there is a storm named ANDREA!

From Weather.com, May 10, 2007:

"The 2007 Atlantic hurricane season got off to an early start with Subtropical Storm Andrea forming this week. It impacted the East Coast from North Carolina to Florida with high waves, beach erosion and strong winds, but overall, little rain for the drought-stricken Southeast.

Andrea was showing clear signs of weakening during much of Thursday and was becoming highly disorganized. The final advisory was written last night from the NHC. That being said, Andrea is showing new signs of life today as thunderstorms explode in the center of circulation. It is becoming more tropical in nature now than during any time in its lifespan. Andrea is located about 100 miles east of Cape Canaveral Florida. This latest development will be closely monitored. Restrengthening is a possibility."

Unfortunatly, it's not a hurricane or even a tropical storm, but a SUBtropical storm. Yet, according to Weather.com ANDREA IS SHOWING SIGNS OF REBIRTH! At least that was the headline that caught my attention on my desktop weather page. Which, by the way, was really confusing due to the fact that I didn't know about this storm. I, seriously, thought I was hallucinating.

Anyway, let's all root for this storm to reach her full potential and become a brilliant and catastrophically large hurricane!
