Tsuchiya Anna to sing for “Battle Royale 3D”
The cult classic “Battle Royale” will come back as a 3D movie on November 20th, and it’s been announced Tsuchiya Anna will sing for the theme song, titled “CHECKMATE mash up“.
The melody of the song is sampled from the classical piece “Requiem” by Verdi, which was also used for the 2000 original. Anna mashes up and modernizes the song by including collaborations with female rapper, ANTY the 紅乃壱 (ANTY the Kunoichi) and track maker, VOLTA MASTERS.
“Battle Royale” is a film in which classmates of a junior high school are pitted against each other. Due to the requirement that only one student may survive, it was deemed as too violent for some people and was rated R-15.
