Singer and former Morning Musume leader Miki Fujimoto, 24, and Tomoharu Shoji, 33, of comedy duo Shinagawa Shoji, attended a press event in Tokyo on Sunday to talk about their life as newlyweds and their wedding ceremony held in Hawaii earlier this month.

The pair showed photos of the wedding and said that just family and relatives were invited, but that they would hold a big reception party in Tokyo this fall. Shoji said: “Both our families attended the wedding, so there was a very warm atmosphere. But no one really cried, and it was kind of kind of light and playful - like this press event.”

Fujimoto, known as “Mikitty” by her fans, said: “We had to speak in English when we exchanged rings, and I was pretty embarrassed.”
