Actress Tae Kimura, 39, and actors Yousuke Kubozuka, 30, and Seiji Fukushi, 26, showed up at the Hermes Ginza store recently to promote their upcoming film “Tokyo-jima.”

Based on a short story of the same name by Natsuo Kirino, the film tells the survival tale of a deserted island harboring 23 men and one woman. The film is the first tie-up between a major brand and a Japanese film as the lead character, played by Kimura, wraps herself in a Hermes scarf throughout the movie.

Kimura, who often portrays tragic and unhappy characters, plays a tough woman who uses her body and charms to control the men of the island, a role the actress said she could possibly identify with. “I think there might be a part of me that can turn and become defiant like that. When it comes to survival, that’s probably when people’s true character comes out.”

The scarf featured in the film is available at Hermes stores around the country for 48,300 yen. The film is set to be released in theaters this summer.
