Shida Mirai Wins "Best Actress" at the 63th Television Drama Academy Awards, JIN drama also wins 7

Shida Mirai appeared yesterday alongside Nagasawa Masami at Fuji TV for the press conference announcing their new drama special. While Shida's drama Shokojo Seira had below average ratings, she still won the coveted Best Actress Award at the 63th Television Drama Academy Awards, beating out Karina and Fujiwara Norika.

The drama JIN, starring Osawa Takao and Ayase Haruka won multiple awards, including Best Drama, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress, taking home a total of 7 awards.

As well, actor Fujita Makoto, who left the JIN cast last year, has passed away at a hospital in Osaka. He was 76.

Veteran actor Makoto Fujita has passed away at the age of 76. Fujita, whose real name was Makoto Harada, died at a hospital in Suita, Osaka, on February 17. The cause of death was reportedly a ruptured aortic aneurysm. (read more about this: @tokyograph)
