Eita wins Best Supporting Actor at 34th Hochi Film Awards
At the recently held 34th Hochi Film Awards, actor Eita became the Best Supporting Actor. At 26 years old he has become the youngest actor to win in the category; the previous record holder was Asano Tadanobu, who won the award in 2000 when he was 27. Eita expressed his joy. "I'm really honored. I'm delighted I've become the youngest actor."
For this year Eita has appeared in a slew of movies. The 4 films he participated in are 'ガマの油 / Gama no Abura (Toad's Oil)', 'ディア・ドクター / Dear Doctor', '余命１ヶ月の花嫁 / Yomei 1-kagetsu no Hanayome [lit. 'Bride with One Month to Live']' and 'なくもんか / Nakumonka [lit. 'No Way I'll Cry']'. From serious to comedy films, Eita excelled in a wide variety of genres.
Eita quietly commented "Although I've become the Best Supporting Actor, I really don't think I was able to 'support' the lead actors. Instead I feel like I was the one who was 'supported'.
