Ryoko Hirosue named 'Best Formalist'
Actress Ryoko Hirosue, 29, picked up an award at the 10th Best Formalist Awards held at the Imperial Hotel on Tuesday, and wore a stunning backless dress which draped to the floor at the back, said to be designed in the image of a mermaid swimming freely in the ocean.
Hirosue, who reportedly helped design the dress, said she was a bit nervous wearing it due to the open back and revealing front. A reporter asked her if she felt like wearing a wedding dress some time again, and Hirosue said she couldn’t imagine doing so in the near future.
Actor Naohito Fujiki, 37, also won an award and wore a tuxedo, but said: “Actually, I don’t have much in the way of formal attire, so I’m glad to receive this tuxedo.”
