Well, me personally it been hard to repost anything because everything needs to be translated and I don't usually have time to do it myself nor does Google always want to work.

Also, all I seem to post is what Japanese stars post on their Twitter/Blog, etc. I don't really know where to look for anything.

However, I think for now, we should keep it as is and try to work on improving it.

I don't have any ideas right off, but I might be able to come up with some and let you know as soon as I do.

Most Japanese talents have their own blog, facebook or twitter, so it's best to post links here for that, and leave people to follow up.

Translation is not so difficult these days either, using translation apps (you get 60-80 per cent of the meaning).

More people are not using LiveJournal so much for communicating and sharing information these days, so it may not be the community but rather LiveJournal which is suffering a slowdown.

Thank you for taking the time to comment! and oohh! i thought it was just me who had kind of ditched LJ for a while... with twitter these days its easier to get info from there now.. that's why I'm not sure how/if this comm can ever become "alive" again.. the link posting is a good idea though...thanks~

I haven't ditched LJ, just haven't had time with personal caos in my life, but it is slowly comming down now that I am back home. I can look more into at least posting Twitter links and some info after bit. Right now my fianceé is getting ready for work.

Maybe if it became more of a general fan community? Or something of a mixture...maybe have posts linking to resources that might be helpful for participating in Japanese fandom, such as good sources for translations, and translation websites/apps, maybe even helpful language-learning posts/sources ( ... )

Good ideas! i was thinking about some stuff like that too... Like just a place were people could get all this related to the Japan fandom maybe along with little news, discussion etc in an organized manner, but I'm not sure if people will actually want to post. Actually to be honest we've always had that problem since the beginning of this community, people commented (somewhat) but for some reason they are discouraged to make an actual post..I'm not sure why.. ^_^

And true! i agree Arama is pretty much the LJ go-place it seems for all things japan entertainment stuff...(i saw it's like in the top 3 of the new community rank thingy, haha) so rather than compete with it, i was thinking maybe having other stuff that they don't have... are you a member there? or does the community pretty much cover everything and anything japan fandom? hmmm

Thanks for your input~

Yeah, I forgot to mention that keeping the news aspect is a good way to go, since I come across news stories here that I don't see in other places.

Yes, I'm a member of Arama. They tend to post more about entertainment - especially the music industry - but they do have more serious stories and things like that. Of course, they also have the weekly Free For All post, too.

I think maybe advertising the community when you've decided on what is going to happen might help to get more members, which might help with increasing posts from more members. You could even consider affiliating with other communities - possibly even Arama (I'm not sure if they affiliate, or not)

it's sad to see this community dying... but I guess this was expected..
People are now taking news from tokyohive, in the previous last months it was tokyograph.. and of course Twitter is always there plus arama
So I guess: -Close the community (but not delete it)

I still prefere to get my news form here... maybe because I am old fashioned but I started with here, and I like it here XD
and I like the translations, it gives me a chance to see how japanese to english translation works, and makes me learn lots of things, for my own translations - (its still nice to get a link to the source)
but I would say for the moment, leave it as it was, because thats why peiople started here in the first place, and maybe some of them (like me) are still hung up on their roots XD
btw I didn't know about your twitter account... well I seldom use twitter anyway but I just didn't know XD
