Johnny’s actor Toma Ikuta helped bring a 源氏物語 (Genji-monogatari) experience to life for 300 students at an event in Tokyo on November 30, reports Mainichi Shimbun and Asahi Shimbun.

The Kenzo Noh Theatre held a special event for university students studying Japanese literature, by giving them the chance to experience the 源氏物語 (Genji-monogatari) world.

Ikuta, who plays Hikaru Genji in the upcoming movie “源氏物語 ~ 千年の謎 (Genji-monogatari - Sen-nen no Nazo)”, appeared wearing one of his period costumes, and one of the gagaku (Japanese classical music) performers in the film introduced a number of instruments used around the film’s period.

It has been reported one of the students had asked Ikuta if he would like to date as many women as Hikaru Genji had.

“I…would like to fall in love a lot. I’m amazed at how Hikaru Genji was able to charm so many women,” he said.

Afterwards, Ikuta said he was caught off guard with the question.

“I’m sweating!!”
