Satou Ryuta and Asou Kumiko become emotional at premiere for the movie ‘Rock~ Wanko no Shima~’

On July 23, actor Satou Yuuta (31) and actress Asou Kumiko (33) appeared at the Odaiba Cinema Mediage in Tokyo for a greeting event on the opening day of their movie “Rock~ Wanko no Shima~” (directed by Nakae Isamu).

The movie is an emotional piece that depicts the bond between a family, that runs a bed and breakfast in Miyakejima, Tokyo with their pet dog, Rock, when they are forced to find refuge after a volcanic eruption.

Hashino Ryunosuke (8), who plays the role of Satou and Asou’s son and Baishou Mitsuko’s (64) grandson surprised everyone at the event as he shed tears and read a letter that said “Dad, mom, grandma, I like you. Although we will no longer (have the opportunity to) meet with each other very often, we will always be a family…” Upon hearing his emotional letter, Asou stated “Ryunosuke, you are very innocent and cute and I like you a lot. I do not want to part… This letter is touching…” as tears welled up in her eyes. Satou also stated that “Dad also feels the same way. Thank you.” as tears welled up in his eyes as well.

The movie is based on a true story that was revealed in June of 2007 on the popular corner ‘Kyou no Wanko‘ on Fuji TV’s ‘Mezamashi Terebi‘ (Monday - Friday 5:25). Announcers Tobe Youko (30) and Endou Reiko (29) from the program appeared at the event with a bouquet of flowers.
