Actresses Kuroki Meisa and Tabe Mikako - both of whom will be starring in the upcoming drama, “Jiu Keishicho Tokushuhan Sousagakari” - met with Lady Gaga for the first time at MTV’s “VIDEO MUSIC AID JAPAN” event!
As tokyohive previously reported, Lady Gaga’s song “The Edge of Glory” will be used as the theme song for “Jiu”. The drama is a live-action adaptation of Honda Tetsuya’s best selling novel, which revolves around two very different female detectives who use their good looks and intelligence to chase after the leader of crimes, Jiu, played by L from the Korean idol group INFINITE.
“It is such an honor, and I’m thankful that my song will be supported like this,” the international pop star said with gratitude. “I am also happy that I got to return to Japan again.” During the event, Lady Gaga was also given a stuffed animal of TV Asahi’s mascot. “Oh, it’s so cute. Thank you!“, she exclaimed before exchanging hugs with Kuroki and Tabe.
“By her looks and energy, I can’t believe we are only two years apart in age,” said Kuroki about her meeting with Lady Gaga. “I was motivated by her attitude towards people.” Tabe also commented, “By actually meeting her, I felt her sincerity and power.”
This will be the first time a Lady Gaga song will be used in a drama. Producer Uchiyama Seiko commented, “Please look forward to the double heroines and Lady Gaga’s singing voice.”
