Will AKB48’s Maeda Atsuko go solo this year?
Rumors have been spreading that AKB48 member Maeda Atsuko may debut as a solo artist this summer!
Although nothing has been confirmed so far, a Chinese website that was featured on Japanese entertainment news has recently reported that Maeda will be releasing her debut solo single on June 22nd. The single will supposedly come in three different versions under King Records, which publishes AKB48’s releases.
Maeda’s rumored debut single will be released in about two months, which has made some believe that the whole thing is a hoax (or a well-kept secret among the entertainment industry). Artists generally make announcements about their upcoming albums, singles, etc. approximately three months before the official release date, allowing shops to prepare for the release and to build up hype / ample anticipation prior to hitting stores.
