First teaser for the live-action adaptation of "Moshidora" starring Atsuko Maeda
Click to viewOn Friday, the official website for Makoto Tanaka’s Moshi Koukou Yakyuu no Joshi Manager ga Drucker no “Management” wo Yondara, aka Moshidora, was updated with a teaser trailer.
The film is based on Natsumi Iwasaki’s best-selling book which attempts to answer the title’s question ‘What if the Female Manager of a High School Baseball Team read Drucker’s “Management”?’ Atsuko Maeda of the pop idol group AKB48 stars as Minami Kawashima, the manager of a high school baseball team who mistakenly buys the book “Management: Tasks, Responsibilities, Practices”, written by the late management consultant, Peter Drucker.
Although the book isn’t specifically about baseball, Kawashima takes Drucker’s management philosophies to heart, carefully utilizing them in an attempt to transform her players from a group of unmotivated underachievers into a real team with a legitimate chance to reach the annual championship tournament at Koshien Stadium.
Toho will be releasing “Moshidora” in Japan sometime this June. NHK will begin airing a 10-episode anime series inspired by the novel from March 14, 2011.
