AAA member Uno Misako appeared at the Shibuya Kinokuniya Bookstore on January 22nd, and took part in a special event promoting the suspenseful movie, “Rendevous,” in which she plays the lead role.

The movie is the film debut of screenwriter Ozaki Masaya, who wrote the screenplays for hit dramas such as “Kekkon Dekinai Otoko,” “Kakarichou Tadano,” and “Massugu na Otoko.” Uno, who had always dreamed of becoming an actress, plays a girl who has moved from the countryside to the ultra-urban Tokyo, named Taniyama Meguru. While on her way to an audition, Meguru discovers a phone someone has dropped; when she answers the phone, she unexpectedly becomes wrapped up in mysterious events. “Inside me, songs and acting and self-expression are all linked. For me, acting is more natural than music. I can’t yell at the other members (of AAA) when I get angry, so I really love acting,” Uno said of taking up the role.

During one scene in the movie, Meguru is hiding under a bed when a single cockroach appears - the one thing that Uno reportedly hates the most in the entire world. When asked about the scene in the movie, Uno turned as she said, “There’s only one in the movie, but because they had to film it (more than once) there were ten of them. It was just impossible. I have bad dreams every time I remember it,” said the AAA member with a strained smile. “There was no way that you could make me want to act with actual cockroaches… How many times did I think of telling them, ‘I can’t do it’? I was pretty freaked out.”

When AAA’s debut on Kohaku Uta Gassen came up, the singer was much more enthusiastic. “So many people told me ‘I saw you!’ I really felt the greatness of Kohaku. I’d absolutely want to go again.”

The first 400 people to purchase the DVD at the event were also given autographs from Uno Misaki herself, sealing in her popularity as a member of AAA as well as an actress.
