Actress-singer Saki Fukuda, 18, this week marked the sale of her first single in 2 1/2 years, “Ashita he no Hikari.” She performed the single and another song in front of an audience of about 1,000 fans, the first time in three years she’s sung on stage before a crowd. Waving to the crowd, she said, “This feels great, I want to do more performances. Thanks for coming on such a hot day!”

Fukuda is currently starring in the Fuji TV drama, “Maid Deka,” as a maid-detective who fights the bad guys with her slogan, “Allow me to clean up the dirt of this evil.” When asked “What bad thing would you like to ‘clean’ from the world?” the actress laughed and said, “I hate it when people walk while smoking, so I would want to get rid of cigarettes. I’d use the ‘Cutie Cleaner’ (a special mop she uses in the TV program) to hit the arms of people carrying cigarettes.”
