AKB48's Tomomi Itano to release solo single
AKB48 held a handshake event and mini-concert at Ajinomoto Stadium on Saturday to celebrate their single "Beginner." During the event, member Tomomi Itano (19) announced that she is going to make her solo debut next year.
Although AKB48 has had several sub-units, Itano will be the first member to have a solo release. Her debut single is titled "Dear J" and will be released on January 26, 2011. It is described as an up-tempo dance song with a club music feel.
