Actress Ai Kato, 27, has been selected as the face of a Japanese language word processing application known as Ichitaro. The actress appeared this week at a product launch for the latest version of the software. The talk event included some discussion of new additions to the latest version of Ichitaro, which include a cutting edge text-to-speech feature with smooth Japanese pronunciation. “I thought the voice would be more computer-like but the pronunciation is really quite good,” Kato said.
When asked how frequently she used a computer, she said, “I used to write reports on one at uni. Now I mainly use them for finding shops and talking to friends.”
