BIG BANG, KARA invited to Kohaku

According to the Sports Nippon newspaper, Korean groups BIG BANG and KARA will be making their first appearances in the NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen. The last Korean artists to perform at Kohaku were Lee Jung Hyun and RYU in 2004, but BIG BANG and KARA will be the first groups ever to appear.

And DBSK/ TVXQ??

KARA is the first female band.. but have DBSK...

Well to the japanese public DBSK was a jpop artist, same with Boa.
Kara and th erest are always promoted as korean bands unlike DBSK.

I dont think so. Big Bang does Japanese music in Japan, not Korean. They're totally like THSK but the only difference is their name didnt change to Japanese (and their style of music of course).

Big Bang is marketed as a korean band that releases material in japanese not as a jpop artist, DBSK was always promoted as a popular group from Avex and to many japanese Boa and DBSK are considered jpop artists.
Kara is promoted as a popular girlgroup from Korea the same with SNSD or shoujo jidai.

I've been following DBSK since day one and when they started they were also marketed as the most popular korean group. Then later they just began to rise and are now known as a jpop act.
