Johnny’s Jr. star Yuma Nakayama (16) will join the cast of Hideaki Takizawa’s “新春 滝沢革命 (Shinshun Takizawa Kakumei)” in 2011, it was revealed at the show’s press conference in Tokyo today, reports The Television.
Takizawa’s show will start its third season at Tokyo’s Teikoku Gekijo on January 1st 2011, becoming the opening show for the theater which is celebrating its 100th anniversary next year.
At today’s press conference, the show’s cast was revealed, and will include Kazukiyo Nishikiori, A.B.C-Z, Mis Snow Man, Mayumi Ohzora, and Ayane Sakurano.
Nakayama will play Takizawa’s younger brother, bringing a new element of brotherly love to the show’s story.
The show had attracted the media’s attention when it started in 2009, as it was the first stage show in the world to include large-scale water fountain special effects.
“(Up to now) water has been an important theme to the show and I want to do something bigger with it (next season). We’re planning to create an entire waterfall across the stage where the water will flow towards the audience.
“I also want to do performances under the waterfall, and we’re planning on using 10 tons of water,” Takizawa said.
Nakayama talked about how he felt working with his Johnny’s senior.
“This will be my first time working with Takizawa-kun so I’m really nervous. But over the summer I worked with Tsubasa-kun in his stage show, and now that I’m working with Takizawa-kun, I feel like I’m the only person who’s enjoying the full Tackey & Tsubasa experience. I’m thankful for that,” he said.
When asked what his first impression of Takizawa was, Nakayama’s answer was enough to make everyone in the room laugh.
“I haven’t worked with him before, but I admire his face! Even just standing next to him, I think he’s so cool,” he said.
“It’s the first time anyone’s said they ‘admire my face’,” Takizawa said.
