Hey there. I haven't posted here in almost a year. I suppose it's time for an update in my life?
I'm at university now and finally majoring in Japanese. It is the best feeling in the world to finally be learning Japanese. I love it and I'm pretty good at it, too. I've also been doing a lot of research on the field of translators and interpreters. I am almost entirely certain now that I want to be a Japanese-to-English translator (hopefully almost exclusively written). Still want to translate video games, but we'll see if that actually pans out. Hopefully I can meet Shigeru Miyamoto! :)
I'm also minoring in computer science. I figure that if, for some reason, I can't get a job involving Japanese, my minor better be something really appealing to employers. What's more attractive than computer skills? Also the path I'm planning on taking with this minor involves a game programming class. I'm really excited for that, but I won't get there until spring of 2016 or fall of 2016.
Meanwhile, I've gotten really obsessed with even more things. I am utterly in love with Bastille and all of the guys. They're so incredibly talented. Plus, as much as I still love Arashi, it's nice to listen to music and not have to mentally translate it. ^^; Also, fans of Bastille call themselves "stormers." So I can say I've been a stormer for years, but it applies to both bands. :D I also got to see them in concert in June of 2014, and I've been dead-set on going to as many concerts as I can now. I'm going to see another indie group play in two weeks: Magic Man. Again, it's nice to listen to music in my own language to relax my brain. :b
That's pretty much it for me. I'm still as boring as ever, and my humor has gotten even worse thanks to Tumblr. Now I should probably email my advisor to talk about study abroad opportunities that I can apply for. Hope you're all doing well! ^^
