*snort* I had a feeling you'd like that. XD XD XD

I would SO bid on it, especially considering how close I am to the seller, but, well, it would involve VERY awkward questions from the fella *blush* If it ended midweek, then no problemo, but not a weekend... Anyone else volunteer?

Failing that, there are a couple of secondhand copies on Amazon in the £15-region.

I swear absolutely that this started off as a decent price-search for DVDs of "A Family At War" (incidentally, you can get the three DVDs of the first series for £9.99 each at DVD.co.uk). HOW. FREAKIN'. SAD. AM. I?!?!?! *gets back in box, right into the corner of said box, and doesn't come out for a month*

*gah* I just re-read your post (my brain is seriously addled tonight... call it the thought of stripping an entire flat of wallpaper tomorrow) and I SO CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE GONNA BID *gaaaaah* I'm going to DIE. Actually, that's a lie. I'm going to sit here with a stupid grin on my face for a while, before forcing myself to go to bed when I realise it's 3am and I haven't stopped grinning yet.

We were both grinning until 3 a.m., I was a perfect wreck today at work - on autopilot until 12, only coffee kept me going. But still grinning.

That's the bright side of living alone - nobody asks stupid questions, and I can have as many 70's porn flicks littering my flat as I bloody well like - YEAH! Freedom! *goes hide porn in dirty laundry when parents visit*

"A family at War"? With David in it? *POUNCES* *GRABS*
*joins you in the box*

Ooooh, yes, A Family At War had David in the first two series (his character gets killed halfway through the second series - boo! hiss!) - I have never seen it but it's available on Shiny Thing (that's DVD to the English-speaking world and those who don't live in my brain). I think he was very young when he did it - one of the fanpages describes the role as "an almost illegally young sailor". *resists urge to shout "OOOH, HELLO SAILOR!" in a very loud, camp voice*

I want to get AFAW at some stage. They sell it in a shop here called Past Times (basically sells period pieces and memorabilia from times gone by) and I'm friends with the assistant manager of my local branch (we were at college together; he is a massive Doctor Who fan, a Hitchhikers fan, and I used to fancy him - of course, he turned out to be monumentally gay...) so can we say "staff discount"? Having said that, I think the price at DVD.co.uk is cheaper!

Hmmmm, that sounds YUMMY. Buy your assistant manager a lot of drinks, bribe him with David & Simon clones, I'll try the same with my friend who works in a bookshop - they sell stuff from the UK, too.

"Hello Sailor!" LOL. Yes, on some of the screencaps you and Mickle made, he really looks illegally young, about 15. I wonder how old he really is, and at what age he started acting.

And I don't know how many times I fancied a bloke who turned out to be gay. *sigh* Life is not fair.

Yes, I think David's age will forever remain a mystery to us all... He looked about sixteen right up until the late 80s, though! (Good moisturising regime, dahling? ;)) One of those people who looks perenially younger than he actually is. I'm blessed/cursed with the same thing - I'm 23 and look about 16...

I'm really contemplating getting AFAW now; I'll see what I get paid this month (it should be quite a bit now I do more hours, and still have my Boxing Day double time to take into account) and maybe I will order at least one disc from Series 1 and give it a try. Naturally, if there's any sight of an illegally young actor then I shall be making caps :D
