Taking a break from all the poety-socializing to get a little work done and bask in the air conditioning for a little while.
Opening ceremonies was mostly cool. Some of the "intro" pieces really annoyed me. But Worcester has done you all proud, let me tell you. Jon got on stage, introduced the team and said something close to "We're Worcester. Have a hug."
... and then the slam team wandered into the audience, arms open wide, and hugged random people. So cool. I said something like "God, I love my team." Random guy standing near me was like, "That's your team?" & I nodded.
"They're so cool," he said, and yeah, they are so cool.
In other news, I was drinking before noon today. Fucking bring it. This is going to be a good NPS if it kills me.
